The city of Aosta

This apartment takes its name from Aosta’s city, capital of the Valle d’Aosta region. This small region is located in northwest of Italy on the border with France and Switzerland. In a landscape completely surrounded by the most impressive peaks of the western Alps, it also includes in its territory the Mont Blanc (meaning White Mountain), the highest mountain in the Alps and the highest in Central Europe with 15,748 Feet (4,800 meters). The Valle d'Aosta certainly requires a visit, in winter for ski lovers, or in summer for excursions in the high mountains, accessible even to the less adventurous, thanks to the recent Skyway, the Mont Blanc cablecar defined the eighth wonder of the world that will take you easily to admire the majesty of this mountain directly at 11,371 feet (3,466 meters). The Film “Not So Far” made by the climber Hervé Barmasse born in Aosta, is a documentary that with breathtaking video shooting tells the trilogy of climbing to the most famous peaks of the Valle d'Aosta made by him within the project “Exploring the Alps”: Cervino 14,691 feet (4,478 mt), Mount Blanc 15,780 feet (4,810 mt) and Monte Rosa massif 15,203 feet (4.634 mt) and perfectly describes the grandeur and majesty of these mountains. What we suggest to taste in Aosta: Fontina is the typical cheese of these valleys and mountains, with which is made the Valdostana fondue, a dish to enjoy during your stay in these beautiful mountains. To visit the Valle d'Aosta, we advise you to use the car because the train includes some changes that lengthen the travel time, but above all because you can easily reach and visit the most beautiful peaks of the Alps, as well as the majestic Mont Blanc. Distance from Vicenza: 242 mi (390 km) Motorway A4 direction Milan-Turin and then E 25 direction Aosta-Monte Bianco.
